Fifth Annual Clara Lemlich Awards

Lemlich buttonLaborArts and the Triangle Fire Coalition will host the fifth annual Clara Lemlich Awards on Monday, May 4, 2015, 6:30-8:30 pm.  These awards honor unsung women activists, in the tradition of those who sparked so many reforms in the aftermath of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire.

The awards will be distributed at the Puffin Gallery for Social Activism, Museum of the City of New York, 1220 Fifth Avenue at 103rd Street.

Film Screening: Cartoonists–Footsoldiers of Democracy

CartoonistsLaborArts and the New York Labor History Association are pleased to cosponsor a showing of the 2014 documentary Cartoonists–Footsoldiers of Democracy (Les Caricaturistes: Fantassins de la Démocratie).

There will be a pre-screening discussion with Jeff Danziger, one of the cartoonists featured in the documentary.

The screening will take place at the Brooklyn College Graduate Center for Worker Education (25 Broadway, 7th Floor; ID required for building entry), on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, 6:00-8:30 p.m.
